Johnny Guidry is a speaker, podcaster, and coach focused on helping others embrace their most authentic calling. His career progression includes over 20 years of developing leaders, learning design, public speaking, human resources leadership, project management, and operations.
Johnny trained as a personal coach at the Co-Active Training Institute and launched both Refractive Coaching and Refractive Podcast to spread hope and empower others. He resides in Washington, DC and lives his best life by helping others do the same.

How does coaching help?
Given ideal circumstances, we actually don’t need a coach! We are born with a fully-formed roadmap to fulfillment in all areas of life. For some of us, we lose our conscious connection to that inner wisdom. A coach helps you to re-orient to your authentic true north, to get used to making honest, authentic values-based choices, and saying yes to your most optimal path. A coach can often see when your self-sabotage or imposter syndrome steps in to derail your progress, and gently nudges you back onto the path you’ve set for yourself. A coach will push back with curiosity (in a kind, honest way) when you procrastine, move your goal post, or otherwise back away from what you’ve said you want out of life.
What happens in a coaching session?
Whether the objective is personal growth, career change, executive-level skill building, or spiritual exploration, a coaching engagements begins with identifying values, motivators, insecurities, and fears. The coach then holds space for the goals you set across the engagement. Each session the client reviews any progress or homework completed, and then the coach and client co-create a path to the next milestone. Suggested assignments might include discussing options with your inner circle, reviewing articles or books for valuable guidance, practicing tactics and new skills discussed during the session, applying planning tools and systems, etc.
How do I know if my coach is qualified?
Johnny Guidry has worked in Human Resources for over 20 years. His special focus has been training and leadership development. Helping emerging and established leaders grow a career and find fulfillment became a primary way Johnny contributed to his organizations. What's the price and length of a coaching engagement?
Career coaching includes 8 sessions across 4 months. Transformational coaching and Executive Coaching involves more intenstive work, support, and behavioral changes, and therefore requires 12 sessions across 6 months. A la carte coaching sessions are also available for narrow-focused work.
To ensure accessibility to those who need it most, Refractive offers a 4-tier sliding scale:
>> Recent grads/unemployed/underemployed (earning under US$55k/yr)
>> Low-to-moderate income (earning US$55k-$75k/yr)
>> Standard pricing (earning US$75k-$150k/yr)
>> Higher earners (earning US$150k/yr and above).

How much contact will I have with my coach?
Clients receive two 50-minute sessions per month (offerd via Zoom) and have unlimited additional contact via email. Clients can also request brief supplementary calls for pop-up situations between sessions at no additional cost.
What are the prices of services other than coaching?
For keynote speaking services, a la carte career support (resume coaching or writing, interview prep, LinkedIn design, etc), corporate meeting/retreat facilitation, custom training programs, on-site or virtual workshop facilitation, send a note using the form below for clear, no-fuss pricing information.
